Sometime Glass Breaks

And some times it shatters!

The glass hand painted centre pieces were designed and painted with reference to original fireplace tiles. Unfortunately, on delivery one of the panels was broken - well shattered! More than one piece of glass but most sadly the main central painted flower roundel. But sometimes glass breaks - and so the only thing to do was get on with repainting and repairing.

Finally finished these stained glass panels for internal doors.

I loved working on these set of two panels for internal sliding doors. Great combinations of glass colours and textures along with the handpainted floral central roundel to match the existing fireplaces tiles. The intention was to tie he windows to the house to make them feel that they had always been there - what a brilliant idea. And they work so well in the space!

After a little disaster on delivery where unfortunately one of the panels had smashed to pieces. Still a mystery as to how it happened but I work with glass and glass sometimes breaks. It was unfortunate the the central painted roundel was broken too. Hand painting a roundel like this is four to five firing sessions in order to build up colours, textures and depth.

But latest update - second panel has been delivered successfully and now just needs a week or two for the putty to dry sufficiently before installation. I can’t wait to see them in situ!
